How to find funds for innovative development of poultry farms and overcome dependence on imports of equipment and genetic material. Solving these issues will help poultry farmers maintain their leadership positions in the agricultural sector and ensure national economic security. New growth factors in poultry farming were discussed at an international workshop, organized by Baltiza in Chelyabinsk on September 26-27.
In the seminar, in addition to representatives of poultry farms in the Chelyabinsk region, poultry farmers from other regions of Russia, as well as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, took part. All of them are united by one – use in production of broilers (meat birds) cross “hubbard”.
According to the Minister of Agriculture of the Chelyabinsk region Sergei Sushkov, thanks to the poultry industry, the region today is provided with affordable and wholesome protein products. Yuzhnouralsk poultry farmers have taken a strong leading position in the all-Russian poultry market. So, according to the results of 2016 the production of poultry meat in the region was three times higher than the medical rate, which contains 30 kg per person per year. Poultry meat accounts for the lion’s share in the production of meat products in general and provides a high level of production of meat products for consumption – 144%.
